Norwich City’s Under-23s travel to the Lyme Valley Stadium to take on Stoke City Under-23s in their second Premier League 2 Division 2 fixture of the week at 7pm on Friday night.
Both sides currently sit on 35 points with City above on goal difference. A win for either side would move them four points clear of Wolverhampton Wanderers U23s in fourth.
The Canaries lost out by one goal in Monday night’s match against Birmingham City U23s, after Josh Andrews put the Blues ahead with a shot from the 18-yard box and an own goal from Josh Giurgi that doubled the visitors’ lead.
Abu Kamara brought City back into the game from the penalty spot after Tony Springett was fouled in the box, but it wasn’t enough to stop Birmingham taking all three points.
City have four games remaining this season with only two points separating them from fifth-place Southampton, where the Canaries need to finish to compete in the play-offs.
Stoke City U23s are currently on a good run of form as they come into the game following three straight wins against Sunderland U23s, Middlesbrough U23s and Newcastle United U23s.
The Potters ran out 2-1 winners against Newcastle United U23s on Monday night, with goals from Adam Porter and Douglas Edward James-Taylor.
Last time the two sides met was at Carrow Road in August, where Eddy Jones netted the only goal for Stoke, in a 1-0 win for the Potters.
