The young Canaries welcome Boro to Norfolk having suffered their first defeat of 2023 last time out against Nottingham Forest.
That win also saw Forest displace Norwich in third spot in the PL2 Division 2 table.
Up to that point, Alan Neilson's side had won three and drawn one of their four games after the turn of the year.
In that same window, the Teessiders have had a mixed run of form - winning two, losing one and drawing one.
They finished 2022 with an 8-1 loss to Southampton before returning to action this year with a 7-5 win at Sunderland.
With 21 goals conceded and 14 scored in their last five games, there's been no shortage of action when this team are involved.
A win for City would see them close the gap on the top two - Southampton and Leeds United - who face each other later the same evening.
