Norwich City fell to a second consecutive defeat on the road in the Sky Bet Championship, losing 2-0 away to Leeds United on Wednesday evening.

Ahead of the game, Johannes Hoff Thorup made just one change to the side that lost to Sheffield United on Saturday, Ante Crnac making way for Oscar Schwartau.

The City head coach opted for another youthful bench; Uriah Djedje, Lucien Mahovo, Ken Aboh and Elliot Myles all making the trip up north.

The home side took an early lead after a tidy pass from Dan James met the feet of Manor Solomon who only needed one touch to find the roof of the net and put Leeds ahead inside one minute.

A good link up between Emiliano Marcondes and Onel Hernández down the right earned Norwich their first attack, the Cuban winger's strike falling just wide of the target.

An important block from Shane Duffy shortly after prevented a second for Leeds, this time Joel Piroe firing towards the target.

Before the half closed, City had opportunities to find an equaliser through Kellen Fisher on two occasions, blocked balls falling into his path on the edge of the area but both efforts were high over the bar.

The second half saw the introduction of Josh Sargent and Crnac from the bench, the fresh legs injecting more controlled play from the Canaries.

This was short lived however, as a ball into the Norwich six-yard box was picked up by James, who slotted home to double Leeds' lead just after the hour mark.

Hoff Thorup again gave minutes to Mahovo and Myles too but their introductions were unable to help City produce a route back into the game as Leeds finished as winners.

The Canaries are back at home this weekend, hosting Swansea City at Carrow Road (KO 12.30pm).
