Norwich City suffered a 2-0 defeat to Hull City at Carrow Road in the Sky Bet Championship.

Liam Manning made four changes to the side that were beaten by Swansea City last weekend, with Kellen Fisher, Ruairi McConville, Shane Duffy and Jeffrey Schlupp all starting at Carrow Road.

Hull tried their luck from kick-off as John Egan shot from the halfway line, but his effort sailed over the crossbar.

The Canaries had their first opportunity as Jovon Makama won the ball high up the pitch and crossed into Josh Sargent, whose outstretched effort was over the crossbar.

Duffy very nearly headed Norwich into the lead as he met Kenny McLean's corner, but his effort was parried over the bar by Hull goalkeeper Ivor Pandur.

From the resulting corner, McConville was next to get on the end of the set-piece but he couldn't get his attempt on target.

Jeffrey Schlupp was the closest to the opening goal in the first half-hour, with his shot hitting the top of the crossbar.

Chances kept coming for the Canaries in the first half, with Oscar Schwartau seeing his effort go just wide of Pandur's post.

However, four minutes into the second half, Hull took the lead. Joe Gelhardt raced through and finished beyond Vladan Kovačević to score.

A great move involving a number of Norwich players almost saw an equaliser, but Schwartau's effort was straight at Pandur.

Late on, there was a first-team debut for Errol Mundle-Smith as he replaced Fisher for the last 10 minutes of the game.

Three minutes from time, Darko Gyabi doubled Hull's lead to confirm all three points.

Norwich are in midweek action, as they travel to Hillsborough to take on Sheffield Wednesday.
