Norwich City exited the Emirates FA Cup in the third round after a 4-0 defeat at home to Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion.
Georginio Rutter grabbed a brace in the first half for Fabian Hürzeler's side, before the Seagulls added second half goals through Julio Enciso and Solly March.
Johannes Hoff Thorup made a number of changes for this cup clash with George Long, Jack Stacey, José Córdoba, Amankwah Forson and Lewis Dobbin all coming into the side.
There was also a return for Josh Sargent, who was named on the bench against the Seagulls.
Dobbin had the opening chance for the Canaries, with his volleyed effort forcing Jason Steele into making a stop.
Long was quick off his line to deny Joel Veltman, which led to a Norwich counter as Forson's curled effort struck the post.
Yankuba Minteh did well to get to the byline and find Rutter, whose effort could have ended up anywhere but for a vital block by Córdoba.
Long was forced into another good save, this time getting down to block Enciso's toe-poked effort.
Eventually, Brighton's chances would lead to the opener. Rutter met Veltman's cross and headed beyond Long.
City went in search of an equaliser and had a good opportunity as Jack Stacey's cross was met by Dobbin, who couldn't keep his header down.
But the Seagulls found a second before the break, as Rutter's shot took a deflection off Callum Doyle and in.
At the start of the second half, Minteh's venomous effort needed a hand from Long to divert it away from goal.
Marcelino Núñez tried his luck with a shot from long range and the Chilean's effort wasn't too far away as it whistled wide of Steele's goal.
The Seagulls added their third just before the hour mark as Enciso curled beyond Long from a tight angle.
And there was a fourth goal through March who emphatically found the the top corner, as the Premier League side continued their dominance.
Sargent would make his return from injury late on, replacing Ante Crnac for the final 10 minutes.
The Canaries return to league action next weekend, as they travel away to Bramall Lane to face Sheffield United (KO 3pm).
