Match Report | Norwich City 1-1 Sheffield United

Norwich City had to settle for a point in the Sky Bet Championship as they drew 1-1 with Sheffield United at Carrow Road.

Josh Sargent put Norwich in front, before Oliver Arblaster equalised for the Blades.

There was a debut for recent signing Ante Crnac, with Johannes Hoff Thorup only making one switch from last week's draw against Blackburn Rovers as Gabe Forsyth dropped to the bench.

Kieffer Moore registered the game's first chance, meeting Andre Brooks' cross but his header was tame and easy for Angus Gunn to hold.

It was another headed chance that Sheffield United would threaten from, as Harry Souttar rose highest from a corner but his header was over the crossbar.

Crnac almost made an instant impact on his Canaries debut, as he skilfully got beyond a marker and put a ball across goal that both Sargent and Borja Sainz couldn't quite guide on target.

Norwich would take the lead through Sargent just after the 20-minute mark. Marcelino Núñez's pass was nudged on by Amankwah Forson into the American's path and he finished confidently beyond Michael Cooper in the Sheffield United goal.

The away side found an equaliser just after the half-hour mark. The Canaries failed to clear their lines after a run forward from Brooks, with the ball eventually spilling out to Arblaster who fired in.

A nice free-kick routine saw Ben Chrisene's cross knocked back across goal by Callum Doyle, but Shane Duffy's header was held well by Cooper.

Gunn was forced into a smart stop at his near post to deny Harrison Burrows' effort as the away side had the first clear chance of the second half.

Crnac tried his luck from range, but his shot took a deflection on its way and was caught comfortably by Cooper.

Burrows had another shot on goal, this time seeing a curled effort go wide of Gunn's goal.

A Núñez free-kick was the next effort on goal from the Canaries, but the Chilean's set-piece didn't trouble the Blades' goalkeeper.

Jesurun Rak-Sakyi was close to making a quick impact after being introduced as a sub for Sheffield United, cutting inside well before firing over.

Despite a late flurry of half-chances, the points would be shared.

The Canaries are in Carabao Cup action on Tuesday night, travelling to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace.
