Norwich City were beaten 3-1 at Carrow Road by Blackburn Rovers in a Sunday afternoon Sky Bet Championship fixture.
An opening 15 minutes double from Tyrhys Dolan and Sammie Szmodics set Rovers on their way early in the contest with the latter also adding his second early in the second half.
Norwich could only muster a consolation in added time when Gabriel Sara found the net against the then 10 men of Blackburn.
Rovers struck first inside the opening eight minutes when Joe Rankin-Costello threaded a pass through to Dolan and he was able to find the net despite the best efforts of Jaden Warner and George Long.
Szmodics doubled the lead after 15 minutes after he was found by Andrew Moran.
The Canaries responded with efforts from Hwang Ui-Jo and Marcelino Núñez, but Leopold Wahlstedt was equal to both.
Onel Hernández did beat the 'keeper but his effort curled away from goal too.
After the break, Blackburn struck early again. Once more, Szmodics applied the finishing touch, this time after a counter-attack from a Norwich set-piece.
Scott Wharton was dismissed in the 54th minute. He fouled Hernández as the Cuban was bearing down on goal with just the 'keeper to beat.
The resulting free-kick from Núñez was on-target but Wahlstedt was across his line well to collect.
Four changes on the hour mark aligned with the numerical advantage saw City apply more pressure.
Christian Fassnacht, one of the substitutes, tested Wahlstedt with a header but the goalkeeper again came up with the stop.
It was added time before City did find the net, Sara slotting home from close range for a consolation.
