Norwich City returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion, claiming a 5-1 victory at home to Swansea City in the Sky Bet Championship.

There was a start for Josh Sargent following his return from injury, with Lucien Mahovo making his first start for the club.

José Córdoba and Jacob Sørensen also made their respective returns from injury, taking their place on the bench.

The game's first chance came from a corner. Shane Duffy met Emiliano Marcondes' corner, but the Irishman's header was held by Lawrence Vigouroux in the Swansea goal.

Swansea threatened shortly after as Florian Bianchini's effort was put behind for a corner by Angus Gunn.

Sargent was next to threaten for the Canaries, latching onto Onel Hernández's ball forward but his effort went wide of the post.

The away side saw an effort from Ronald go close, but his shot was wide of Gunn's posts.

US international Sargent continued to threaten in the first half, as he saw an effort take a nick from a defender as it flashed wide of the post and out for a corner.

Sargent's threat in front of goal would eventually pay off just before half-time, as the American was found by Marcondes and fired beyond Vigouroux for the opener. The goal came from a great claim from Gunn, before he found a running Oscar Schwartau, who would eventually feed Marcondes.

Norwich could've gone into the break with a bigger lead as Dobbin's effort was kept out by Vigouroux, before Sargent could only find the side-netting with a later effort.

Just after the hour mark, Swansea were level. Liam Cullen met Josh Key's cross to head beyond Gunn for the equaliser.

But Norwich weren't level for long. Ante Crnac found Sargent and he fired across goal to score his, and Norwich's second, of the game.

And there would be a third for the Canaries, as Dobbin won the ball back high up the pitch, surged forward and found the bottom corner brilliantly.

Crnac would add a fourth for Hoff Thorup's side as the Croatian out-muscled a defender and rounded Vigouroux to tap into an empty net.

Moments later, it was five. Crnac came within inches of his second, seeing his lofted effort hit the crossbar, with Marcondes arriving to nonchalantly chest into the back of the net from close range.

The Canaries are on the road again next weekend, as they travel to Vicarage Road to face Watford (KO 12.30pm).
