Norwich City returned to winning ways in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday lunchtime, beating Blackburn Rovers 2-0 at Carrow Road.
Philippe Clement originally named an unchanged side from last weekend's defeat away at Middlesbrough, before Papa Amadou Diallo was replaced by Tony Springett during the warm-up. Errol Mundle-Smith then took a place on the bench, with new signings Sam Field and Mohamed Touré also named amongst the substitutes.
Norwich's first real opportunity arrived after the half-hour mark as Ali Ahmed headed a corner into Jacob Wright's path, with his side-footed effort being headed clear.
Early in the second half, there was a debut for Touré as he replaced Jovon Makama. On the hour mark, Field would be introduced for his debut, coming on for Wright.
Former Canary Todd Cantwell had a half-chance for the visitors, but saw his effort deflected wide for a corner.
It took until the 73rd minute for the opener, but it was Anis Ben Slimane who would open the scoring. Oscar Schwartau's initial shot hit the post, before the Tunisian international reacted quickest to fire in the rebound.
Five minutes later, Norwich had doubled their lead. In a similar fashion to the first goal, Schwartau's initial effort was thwarted, before Touré followed up to score and marked his Canaries debut with a goal.
Norwich saw the game out and claimed all three points at Carrow Road.
The Canaries are in midweek action on Tuesday night, as they travel away to Oxford United.
