Norwich City fell to a 1-0 defeat away to Southampton in the Sky Bet Championship on Wednesday night.
Ruiari McConville made his return to Philippe Clement's starting line-up, with Kellen Fisher, Sam Field and Paris Maghoma also given starts at St Mary's.
Anis Ben Slimane was behind the game's first chance, with the Tunisian forcing a smart save from Daniel Peretz.
Vladan Kovačević got down well to make a good save to deny James Bree, before a follow-up attempt was ruled out for offside.
Moments later, Southampton were ahead. A throw-in was latched onto by Finn Azaz, who ran through and lifted the ball over Kovačević to score.
In the second half, Kenny McLean wasn't too far away with an effort from range which needed Peretz to parry.
Kellen Fisher, could have equalised for the Canaries but for a save from Peretz. Ali Ahmed's initial effort was saved, before the full-back's follow-up was denied too.
Errol Mundle-Smith wasn't too far away with an effort from a tight angle that went over the crossbar.
Shea Charles nearly found the bottom corner to double the Saints' lead, but for a strong hand from Kovačević.
Norwich nearly rescued a point as Liam Gibbs' cross was deflected onto the crossbar, before McConville's header was saved, but were unable to find a way back into the game as Southampton claimed all three points.
The Canaries are away to Charlton Athletic on Saturday, in their final fixture before the international break.
