The next two Saturdays will see the trial of a proposed mobility bus service between County Hall and Carrow Road on matchdays.
The bus is a collaboration between Norwich City, The Canaries Trust, Norwich Door to Door, Norfolk County Council, Age UK Norwich, Inclusive Norwich Partnership and Age Friendly Norwich.
The two trials take place for the following fixtures:
• NAC Breda, Saturday, August 2 (KO 3pm)
• Millwall, Saturday, August 9 (KO 3pm)
The service is for anyone who has mobility issues and finds it challenging, or is unable to complete the walk between County Hall and Carrow Road. The service can also accommodate users of wheelchairs that fold.
The trial will include:
• Free return transport from County Hall to Carrow Road for yourself and a carer if required (the future cost will be £4 return plus £2 return for a carer/assistant if needed).
• Accessible minibus service.
• Parking on County Hall forecourt, where you will be picked up by the mobility bus (normal £6 parking fee will apply).
• Drop-off and pick up outside the Holiday Inn at Carrow Road and return to County Hall following the match.
Please note supporters will need to have a valid matchday ticket to make use of the mobility bus service.
Please make sure you arrive at 1.15pm to allow for boarding. The buses will depart County Hall at 1.30pm. On arrival at County Hall car park, please proceed to the kiosk and give your name to the security guard, so you can be checked off their list. They will then radio the security guard at the entrance to the forecourt to advise them to let you through to park.
Norwich Door to Door would be grateful if you were able to provide feedback on this service to help them understand what worked well, and what could be improved. This feedback will be invaluable in helping them to develop this service moving forwards.
