Norwich City midfielder Mathias Normann was pleased with the grit he and his teammates showed to hold onto a 2-1 lead against Brentford on Saturday.
"The first half was top class," he said. "We controlled the game and played well. We took care of the ball with one or two touches. We felt very comfortable.
"We started well in the second half but they made it tough for us and it was a war in the end. No problem, we'll take the war and we won the war so three points and we're very happy today.
"The fans were amazing with their support. The team spirit is amazing and we are there for each other. We scream at each other and are positive.
"We were capable of coming out of tight areas and playing one-twos. We controlled the game and showed a lot of quality in the first half. How the game went, with the pressure from fans and the referee, it was tough for the last 30 minutes. We took the three points and we go from here vary happy."
Normann gave the Canaries the lead with a smart finish inside six minutes, seemingly outnumbered by red and white shirts.
"I tried a couple of times in the earlier games and finally it went in with my left foot but I'll take it! I took a touch and realised that I had some space, so I took it forward and came inside and went for it and it went in, so that's amazing.
"Andrew and Ben were great today, winning 70 percent of their duels. I tried to be around there. Kenny and Lees-Melou were also brilliant today, so we're very pleased how we handled the pressure and long balls because we're capable of doing that."
Normann spoke to canaries.co.uk after a 2-0 loss at Everton earlier in the season and he discussed the belief he had in this Norwich City team, which he feels was proven at Brentford.
"We show my words are true. We have quality players and a great team with a great spirit, so three points and we're very happy and we'll keep going.
"I will hopefully now take six points with the national team, come back and work even harder, smile on the training ground and go for it.
"I love to win and this was a victory with our fans, so I'm very pleased that we finally gave them three points in a hard away game. They can celebrate tonight!"
