Norwich City academy winger Matthew Dennis has completed a season-long loan move to Southend United.
The 19-year-old signed for City from Arsenal in July 2020 and became a regular for David Wright’s Under-23s side in the Premier League 2.
He scored five goals in 21 league appearances for the Canaries, as well as two goals in the Papa John’s Trophy against the senior sides of Plymouth Argyle and Newport County.
Dennis returned a goal or an assist in six of his final seven league games for City’s U23s as he ended 2020/21 on impressive form.
The youngster has spent pre-season on trial at Southend, who begin their National League campaign at King’s Lynn Town on Saturday, August 21.
Everyone at Norwich City wishes Matthew the very best for the season ahead.
