Norwich City drew 1-1 with Wigan Athletic in the first home game of the Sky Bet Championship season, after a 61st minute equaliser from Max Aarons.
Like the Canaries, Wigan were searching for their first win of the season, having drawn 0-0 at home to Preston North End last week.
After a dominant 25 minutes, Norwich would look to regret not taking advantage of any early chances.
Dimitris Giannoulis had the first swipe at goal inside five minutes, as he fired a cross into the box that was blocked and his vollied on the rebound went narrowly high and wide.
At the eight minute mark, Milot Rashica intercepted the ball deep into the visitors' half and played a ball to Teemu Pukki in the box, who was blocked from close-range by Curtis Tilt.
The Fin had his second chance in the box just two minutes later, as he beat his defender to a looping ball up top and shot from a tight angle, missing the target by a few inches.
Max Aarons was able to go for goal after 15 minutes, finding space on the edge of the box and beating the Tics keeper Ben Amos, but just shooting wide of the target.
Just past 20 minutes, Tim Krul was forced into action for the first time, as City lost possession deep in their own half. Jason Kerr found the ball at his feet in a one-on-one with Krul, but the City keeper blocked and the Canaries countered.
Down at the other end, Jacob Sørensen shot from distance and the deflected ball fell to Marcelino Núñez, who curled it wide of the post.
Wigan then found a gap in the City defence at 29 minutes, and after their first real opportunity of the game so far, James McClean slotted past Krul to put the visitors ahead.
Despite holding most of the possession, once the Yellows were on the back foot, opportunities didn't come so often, leaving them going into the second half one down.
Rashica was keen to get City all square early into the second half, as he capitalised on a mistake from the visitors and earned a one-on-one with Amos. His shot was able to beat the Lactics keeper, but trailed just wide of goal.
The first action from Wigan came just minutes later, as Tilt won the ball from Ben Gibson and fired on target, only for Krul to block his shot away to safety.
A bad tackle was made on Giannoulis just before the hour mark, as he was brought down on the touchline in front of the dugouts. He was subsequently stretchered off and replaced by Sam McCallum.
City then picked up the pace and fired home an equaliser through Max Aarons in the 61st minute. Pukki and Rashica were selfless on the edge of the box, slotting the ball to Aarons who found space and made it 1-1.
Núñez felt confident with 20 minutes to go, as his curling shot looped the wrong side of the post.
With 15 minutes to go, McCallum picked out Pukki in the box, for another great chance, but his backwards flick went straight at keeper Amos.
Pukki almost looked to put City ahead as his curling effort hit the underside of the crossbar, but didn't quite cross the line, with nine minutes to go.
His effort came closest in the second half, just before a double penalty shout from the crowd and City players.
Gabriel Sara also made his debut at 90+1 as he came on for Max Aarons.
A dominant game for City but they were unable to capitalise on chances in the box, taking just one point from today.
Norwich take on Birmingham next, as they host the blues at Carrow Road on Tuesday, August 9 for round one of the Carabao Cup.
