Kenny McLean has been voted as the Anglian Home Improvements Player of the Season, and will officially receive the Barry Butler Memorial Trophy before Saturday’s fixture against Swansea City.

Gabriel Sara was voted in second place, with Josh Sargent finishing in third place.

The Scottish international has started every single Sky Bet Championship game so far this season, claiming one goal and five assists.

McLean has featured for the Canaries in a number of positions this season; his usual place in midfield, as well as in a new role at centre-back.

During the season, he was also named as the club's Player of the Month in both December and January.

Speaking about the award, McLean said: "Obviously, I'm really happy with the award and the fact that the fans have voted for me to win it is pretty nice.

"We had a few candidates, which is good and means it's been pretty good, especially recently. It's great, and I appreciate all the support we've had, for me personally, and for the team throughout the season."

The Scotsman's name is the next that will feature on the Barry Butler Memorial Trophy, named after the former club captain who passed away in 1966, aged 31.

The award was then introduced the following year, with the inaugural winner being Terry Allcock.
