Milot Rashica says he and his teammates will have to be 100 per cent focused on Saturday if they are going to get a positive result from Anfield.
Norwich City take on Liverpool after a good start to 2022 that saw the team pick up four wins from the first six games of the year. However, the Canaries were beaten last time out by Manchester City at Carrow Road and, facing a similar calibre of opposition this weekend, Milot says the team must take lessons from that match.
“We know what a strong team and what a good team Manchester City is, but the way we conceded some goals it was quite easy, and I think they were mistakes from us,” said Milot.
“We have to learn from that and keep going because we know that, against Liverpool, if we make mistakes like that then, for sure, they will score goals. So we just have to try to be focused all game and try to protect our goal with everything we can and try to score up front.”
Norwich currently sit 18th in the Premier League – four points adrift of safety. However, with 14 games to go this season Milot says it is important the team approach every game with a positive mindset, looking to pick up points.
“We know how difficult it (Liverpool) will be, but we don’t give up,” he said. “We will try and go there and give everything and hopefully we will come back home with a positive result.
“We don’t have anything to lose, so we just have to go into every game and try to win as many points as we can. We have shown that we can do that and we have had some very good games before and I think we need to just keep working on that and better days will come.”
Milot was speaking to club media after doing a signing session at Norwich City Fan Hub in London Street. He says he was delighted to meet fans and sign autographs as they have been very welcoming towards him since he arrived from Werder Bremen in the summer, singing his name a lot at games.
“It was really nice to see a lot of people waiting (for autographs),” he said. “We had the screen in front of us so we couldn’t really stay close to each other, but we still managed to make some pictures and give some autographs and everything went well.
“It (the support from the fans) is very big thing for me and it motivates me to work and give everything for them. So, now it is up to us – the players – to try and give everything for them because they really deserve it.”
