Minute unsilenced before Hull City fixture

On Saturday, a "minute unsilenced" will take place before Norwich City’s fixture with Hull City at Carrow Road ahead of World Mental Health Day.

It will happen at the conclusion of the pre-game coin toss, where supporters from both teams will be encouraged to break the silence and kick-off a conversation around mental health.

The initiative is part of the club’s mission to boost mental health in response to the shockingly high rate of suicide in the UK (one every 90 minutes) and aims to build on the good work in this area from organisations such as Heads Up.

Samaritans have provided some questions to help supporters kick-off the conversation. These will feature on the big screen, on social media and on the matchday programme:

  • How’s life treating you?
  • How are you feeling about the match?
  • What’s this week been like for you?
  • What’s been on your mind lately?
  • How are you feeling about the future?
  • Who do you turn to when you need someone to listen?

Should your conversation in the stadium reveal a need for further support, please speak to the nearest steward who will be able to signpost you to appropriate resources.
