Adam Idah scored his first goal for the Republic of Ireland in a 3-0 win over Gibraltar in the qualifying stages of EURO 2024.

Stephen Kenny's side needed a win from Monday night's game following two defeats in the opening stages of qualifying for the tournament. They played bottom side of Group B, who were also without a win or a point so far, at the Aviva Stadium and impressed a home crowd with three goals in the second half.

Idah stepped onto pitch in the 85th minute and it took him all of eight minutes for him to find the back of the net from a James McLean pass, to seal the deal at home.

Over in France, it was second versus third as Greece travelled to the Stade de France to take on the league leaders of Group B.

Dimitris Giannoulis was named on the bench for his national side, but was not brought on during the 1-0 defeat to Didier Deschamps's side.

The next international break for this tournament will take place in September of 2023.
