Norwich City Under-21s coach Alan Neilson says that Sunday's final league fixture against Southampton at Carrow Road is a big chance for his players to impress.
With the chance to qualify for the PL2 Division 2 play-offs now out of their hands, Sunday could prove to be the final game of the season for the Under-21s.
And Neilson highlighted how playing at Carrow Road always provides a good opportunity for those players to develop and experience a taste of the first-team environment.
"It's great for the players, their development, some players wouldn't have had the chance to play at Carrow Road with the first team so it's a huge opportunity, and it's also a game where we need to get a result," he said.
"Every game they play is a chance to impress, the same when they train with the first team. Every opportunity they have to play in front of the boss is a chance to shine, and it's up to him then whether he wants to pick them or not."
The Under-21s suffered a 4-3 defeat to a strong Newcastle United team last time out, coming from 3-0 down to level but falling behind again in the closing stages.
And now the young Canaries will be looking to bounce back with three points in front of almost 3,000 Norwich fans.
"We know there were parts of the game where we didn't do what we wanted to do but there are others where we did manage to, so we'll take those good parts out of the game and bring them into Sunday.
"The two lads, Finley Welch and Ken Aboh, have come in to the Under-21 team from the 18s and have done really well, it's progression for next season. Finley scored a couple of goals against Newcastle and Ken has scored a few goals since he came in, it'll only help for next year."
