Norwich and Wigan share spoils at DW Stadium

Norwich City played out a scoreless draw with Wigan Athletic on Saturday afternoon at the DW Stadium.

Norwich City played out a scoreless draw with Wigan Athletic on Saturday afternoon at the DW Stadium.

The first half proved difficult for the Canaries with Wigan's high press leading to a couple of opportunities.

However, Angus Gunn stood tall to deny both Callum Lang and Will Keane.

That would be the closest either team would come to scoring with just a couple of half chances for Norwich snuffed out well by Wigan's defence.

The head coach would make a double change at half-time with Ben Gibson and Marcelino Núñez introduced.

Grant Hanley headed just wide from a Gabriel Sara corner after the break.

That was the best chance of a period of play during which City looked much improved from the opening 45 minutes.

Neither side created clear-cut chances throughout the remainder of the half with defences on top.

As time ticked towards the 90 minutes, both sides huffed and puffed but the goal would not arrive.
