The visitors took an early lead. From a free-kick crossed into the box, Gallagher's effort took a deflection off Ben Gibson and deceived Gunn to open the scoring.
As the game went on, Norwich had a few half-chances as they went in search of an equaliser. First, Isaac Hayden's sweetly-struck volley was well blocked, before Danel Sinani saw his ambitious effort go over the bar.
Teemu Pukki was next to have a half-chance, as the Finnish international had his shot deflected for a corner after a scramble in the area.
