Norwich City have published a new and refreshed version of the club’s annual report for the year ended June 30, 2022.
The 72-page document now features excerpts from members of the club’s executive committee and board, a wider strategic report, as well as the usual financial statements from the most recent reporting period.
For the year covered in the report the group’s turnover was £133.9m, higher than the previous period’s figure of £57.2m. This was as a result of a significant increase in broadcast revenue following the club’s promotion to the Premier League.
Ticket revenue (£0.1m to £10.8m) and both matchday and non-matchday catering income (£0.4m to £6.1m) also rose substantially on the previous 2020/21 period, owing to the relaxation of the COVID-19 restrictions.
Prior to any player trading, the group made an operating profit of £3.0m. However, the club made significant purchases in respect of player trading, therefore the group’s results show a loss before tax of £23.6m
A sum of £3.2m was invested in club infrastructure, which included finalising the construction of the SoccerBot360 at the Lotus Training Centre, the rollout of the club’s new official website and app and, as a requirement of the Premier League, the installation of new floodlights at Carrow Road.
