Norwich City have signed Serbian international midfielder Mirko Topić from Portuguese side Famalicão.
The 24-year-old has signed a four-year deal with City, with the option of an additional 12 months. He will wear the number 22 shirt.
Ahead of joining the club, Topić said: "I'm very proud to now be a part of this club and this city.
"I spoke to Vladan (Kovačević) a couple of weeks ago, and also the coach and sporting director. They convinced me to come when they showed me the goals and ambitions for this season.
"I didn't have any doubts about joining."
City's sporting director Ben Knapper added: “Mirko brings a different profile to our midfield cohort and we’re delighted he’s joining Norwich City. We have been following him closely for over 18 months so we’re excited he’s finally here.
“He has an imposing, commanding stature, is a fantastic athlete and brings elite defensive attributes that will be invaluable for us.
“We’re convinced he’ll complement the rest of our squad really well and we’re all looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together with him, this season and beyond."
Topić is a native of Serbia's second-largest city, Novi Sad, which has been twinned with Norwich since 1989.
He started his football career with local club Vojvodina, working his way up to over a century of appearances for their first team before departing for Famalicão in Portugal.
He has made 69 appearances in all competitions for the Portuguese top tier side.
For his country, Topić has played at all levels from Under-18 to senior. He made his full international debut against the USA in January 2023, just two weeks before his 22nd birthday.
The transfer is subject to international clearance and approval by The FA and EFL.
