Okwumo extends Canaries contract

Academy defender Harmony Okwumo has signed a new contract at Norwich City until 2026, with a club option.

Academy defender Harmony Okwumo has signed a new contract at Norwich City until 2026, with a club option.

The 19-year-old arrived at Norwich last summer after leaving Charlton Athletic and made 16 appearances in Premier League 2 for the Under-21s, claiming three assists.

Extending his deal at club, Okwumo said "I'm honoured to get offered another chance to prove myself, hopefully I can kick on and do even better than I did last year.

"I think I started a bit slow last season, not as strong as I'd have liked. But I started to kick on and hopefully I can prove myself again this season.

"With the help from the staff and the players, I feel I settled in quite quickly. I hope to build more relationships, which will help me on and off the pitch.

"I've been working hard during the summer and during the off-season, I just want to prove myself again. This season, I want to get as far as possible and build a name for myself. Just kick on."
