Academy defender Finlay Oligbo has signed his first professional contract at Norwich City.

The 17-year-old has signed until 2027 and made 22 appearances across the Under-18 Premier League South and FA Youth Cup last season, scoring four times.

Signing his first professional deal, Oligbo said: "I feel really good. It's a proud moment for me and my family to sign my first professional contract. It's been a lot of hard work after the last few years.

"I'm a powerful full-back, who loves to get forward. I love scoring as well, I feel like free-kicks are my speciality, crossing or set-pieces.

"(Scoring at Carrow Road) was amazing. To score at the stadium here, it means a lot. I've been watching the club for a long time, since I was about seven.

"I think I've improved a lot from last season. Coming into Under-18s, I was a bit nervous. After playing a few games, I built up that confidence and was able to finish strongly.

"It's been a nice little break, but really looking forward to getting back and started again. Back in that routine and see what happens.

"I want to push and be more involved in the Under-21s and get myself a starting spot there. And if I keep pushing on, the first-team is the goal."
