Norwich City can confirm that Andrew Omobamidele has completed a permanent transfer to Premier League side Nottingham Forest for an undisclosed fee.
Omobamidele progressed through the club’s academy system after joining initially as a 16-year-old from Leixlip United in Ireland.
Following a first-team debut at the age of 18, he would go on to make a total of 55 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals.
He also became the youngest ever player to captain the club, aged 20, when he led the Canaries out against Rotherham United in April 2023.
His progress at City was recognised on the international stage in September 2021, with a call up to the Republic of Ireland senior squad.
Sporting director Stuart Webber said: “This is a deal that comes at the right time for all parties. Andrew is a player with an enormous amount of potential. We're really proud of the work that both Andrew himself and our academy and first-team coaching staff have put in to help get him to this stage.
"To have been part of our title-winning squad and have captained the side at such a young age is testament to his character and work ethic.
"We all look forward to watching him flourish in this next step of his career. He and his family will always be welcome back at the Lotus Training Centre and Carrow Road."
All at Norwich City wish Andrew well in the next step of his career.
