Teemu Pukki has won Norwich City’s fan-voted War Paint for Men Player of the Season award for the 2021/22 season.
The 32-year-old has been presented with the Barry Butler Memorial Trophy at Lotus Training Centre by Danny Gray, founder of War Paint for Men.
Grant Hanley came second in the vote, and Brandon Williams third.
This season, Pukki has scored 11 goals and got four assists in 40 appearances in all competitions so far.
Sunday’s strike against Wolverhampton Wanderers took his total Norwich tally up to 78 goals.
Pukki is now level with Grant Holt, joint sixth in the all-time leading goalscorers chart for City.
“It means a lot that the fans appreciate what I’ve done this season,” he said. “They’re an important part of playing football.
“The goal I scored against Newcastle was nice, and the ones that brought us some points were important, but I wish we could have got more.
“At the moment it’s hard to be happy about this, but maybe in the future it will be nice to look back on.”
Pukki contributed to the Canaries’ first Premier League win of the season with an equalising penalty against Brentford in November.
He then scored an equaliser at home to Southampton in Dean Smith’s first game as head coach.
In April, our number 22 secured a 2-0 win at home to Burnley.
The Finnish forward has now notched double figures in all four seasons during his time at City, including two Premier League campaigns.
