Norwich City Women can confirm the departure of goalkeeper and club captain Sarah Quantrill.
After three seasons at the club, Quantrill made the decision to step away from the club after leading the team to promotion at the conclusion of the 2025/26 campaign.
In three seasons, the goalkeeper made 74 appearances and collected two Norfolk County Cup titles between the sticks for the Canaries.
On her decision to part ways with the club, she said: "It's been an incredibly difficult decision to step away from the club.
"I came here to help earn promotion and it feels like now that has been achieved, it’s the right time to step away and let someone else carry the team forward.
"Seeing how far the club has come since I was first there as a 12-year-old in the pathway is something I’m super proud of.
"I honestly don't know what comes next for me, we’ll just see what happens but I am grateful to have been a part of this journey and Norwich City will forever hold a special place in my heart."
Head of women's football, Flo Allen, added: "Sarah is the ultimate role model for the club and we are immensely proud of all that she has achieved.
"From progressing through the club's Girls' Centre of Excellence, to rejoining us in 2023, and most recently delivering in the biggest moments by saving the decisive penalties in the play-off final to secure promotion.
"Her journey has been remarkable.
"Through her dedication, hard work and unwavering commitment, Sarah has been instrumental in the development of the women’s team.
"Her leadership qualities have been exceptional and she leaves the club with a legacy that deserves enormous credit and recognition.
"It has been a pleasure to work with Sarah and on behalf of everyone at the football club we wish her the very best for the future."
Quantrill leaves Norwich City with the best wishes of everybody at the club and we thank her for her contributions at Norwich City.
