Norwich City defender Shane Duffy says the 1-0 win over QPR in the Carabao Cup was a difficult, but deserved one.
Jonathan Rowe's late winner sent the Canaries into the second round of the competition, setting up a fixture with Bristol City.
"It was a difficult game," Duffy said. "Deserved, but it was a slog. It's been good \[in the first few weeks\], the late drama has definitely added to it.
"I think that shows the level we are as a group, we don't stop and go right until the 90. It shows the togetherness, the fitness, all based off what we did in pre-season. I think the group believes it all the way."
Duffy also spoke about the head coach's standards, and how that contributes to performances on the pitch, as well as highlighting his experience as a player.
"I think there's been a standard set from day one in pre-season, and it's something that we can't drop below. We're all driving the same way. There was changes tonight, but we still can't drop our standards. The lads who come in know that, and that shows with the 99th minute winner tonight.
"Kellen looked experienced tonight, and we've all been that age before. It's all about putting an arm around him, giving him confidence and make them believe they're at this level.
"The quality is definitely in the squad, and us experienced players can help when times are tough as not every game goes perfect. This league is relentless and you've got to keep going.
"It's about the management of the game, about what you're striving to do in training every day. It's what the manager wants, don't let the standards drop."
