Defender Shane Duffy said that he, and his Norwich City team-mates, will be hoping to bounce back from a difficult run of results after the international window.
There are now just eight games remaining in the Sky Bet Championship, with City seven points off the play-off places.
"It was similar to Tuesday again. Two different halves, it's not good enough. We keep shooting ourselves in the foot, giving away a 2-0 lead away from home just creates a mountain to climb," Duffy said after the 2-1 defeat at Ashton Gate.
"The response was there in the second half but it was just too little, too late."
Inconsistency in performance has been a frustration according to Duffy.
However, he maintains that the quality remains in the squad for a late push towards the top six after the upcoming international break.
"A lot of honest conversations, it's a tough moment. We're going through a tough time at the minute. There's a break now, we'll be able to focus on the period we've just had and what we can learn from it," he explained.
"Hopefully, we can learn from it, there's a lot of young players in there, a lot of senior players who have got to be better, gather our thoughts and give it one big push towards the end of the season.
"It's been the story of the season, inconsistency. We know it's there, but putting it together has been tough. The goals we've conceded this season, it's not good enough. We've felt a little bit unlucky at times but it's got to be better all around, from the front to the back."
