Kellen Fisher says that Norwich City weren't good enough to take the three points as they suffered a third successive league defeat.
A goal in each half for Bristol City saw them end the Canaries' year-long unbeaten run at home.
"We started off well, hitting the post after 10/15 minutes. Then, they've scored from half a chance. It's a tough day, we just weren't at it. The international break's coming at a good time, we need to take a week off and reset," Fisher said.
"First half was tight, then obviously they get that chance and take it. To be fair, we weren't good enough today and they deserve the three points."
With a long list of Norwich players currently unavailable through injury and suspension, Fisher and co have struggled to continue getting results.
"We've got a lot of people out but that's no excuse. We've got enough out there to compete and we didn't do that today. I don't know if that's a confidence thing but we're going to have to keep improving and come back after the break ready to go.
"We've got to stick together, work hard on the training ground, go back to basics and what we were doing before the last international break, playing football and being more aggressive. It'll start on the training ground."
