Grant Hanley says that he and his team-mates will quickly look to 'put things right' after the 1-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion.
The Norwich City captain was speaking after making his return to competitive action following over eight months sidelined with injury.
"Yeah, obviously disappointed. We felt it was a game where we could come and make a statement, and come away with a positive result," he said.
"Boxing Day fixtures always feel an extra bit special. Overall, we're disappointed with the result but the main thing for us is to take the positives, how we performed and the spirit we showed under difficult circumstances."
The Scotland international is hoping that they can put the result behind them when travelling to Millwall on Friday night.
"I'm not saying for one second that we're happy with that but we can't be too hard on ourselves, and have to take the positives. We played more than 45 minutes (with 10 men) against one of the top sides in the league. I think the lads showed great spirit.
"We're definitely not happy coming away with a defeat but the beauty of this time of year is that the games come thick and fast so we've got a chance pretty quickly to put things right."
He also outlined how grateful he was to have made his return - highlighting the effort that had gone into helping him recover by the club medical staff.
"It's been almost nine months now which is around the timeframe I was given at the start. I'm grateful to be back out there, a lot of work's gone in, not just by myself but a lot of people, a lot of staff behind the scenes that you never see. I'm very grateful to be in a place where I get so much support and the opportunity to get myself back out there."
