Norwich City head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup admitted that it wasn't his side's best performance as they drew 1-1 at home to Queens Park Rangers.
Marcelino Núñez rescued a late point for the Canaries, as Norwich ended 2024 with a draw against QPR in the Sky Bet Championship.
"It's not our best first half," the head coach said. "But I think we are on top, we are the better team out there and we are creating moments and close enough to have big chances.
"It's not our best performance, especially not in the first half. Then of course, so many things change just before with that goal. Our approach to the half-time talk changes because of that goal and now we have to talk about chasing and having more offensive opportunities.
"First half is okay, but not much better than that. I think second half, we do what we can and the players do what we can expect. They found that good balance between being offensive-minded and getting more balls into the box and creating more than enough chances to score at least one goal."
The head coach also spoke about the impact of the players on the bench, as Norwich eventually did find their equaliser.
"They did well. We knew we rested some players and that they could impact the game, the performance and hopefully the result as well.
"I would've liked us to score a little bit earlier, then I think definitely we would've found a second goal. It's a tricky one because they didn't come with much, especially in the second half where Angus (Gunn) doesn't make any saves.
"We also know if we open up that one situation in the second half, then the game could be over if they score that second goal.
"I think, actually, it was a good balance. We created good opportunities, we had some big, big chances. I'm glad we scored towards the end because it would've been a disaster to lose this one."
