Head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup was pleased with his side after their 2-2 draw against West Brom in the Sky Bet Championship.
A hectic first half saw four goals with City briefly leading before Josh Maja's equaliser in the 43rd minute.
Hoff Thorup said he was happy with the way his team played and felt that the point is a good foundation to build on as City prepare for two home games.
"I think sometimes a point is worth a little bit more than just a point. Of course, it's important for us to get back on track and get some points, also away from home," he told Canaries TV.
"What makes me most excited is the performance, I think we tried. We went out there with a good approach, tried to dominate, created chances, scoring goals. We also had the chance to win it which is really, really strong from this group of players because it's not been easy."
The Dane made several changes to his lineup with Angus Gunn, Jack Stacey and Amankwah Forson included from the off while positional changes also occurred.
"We thought we needed a little bit more control in our build-up to see if we can also avoid transitions against, to see if we could become more solid and compact in the centre of the pitch.
"Jack (Stacey) has been doing well so it was about time to get him back in the lineup again, also to see if we could have a threat on the outside.
"And then (Amankwah) Forson, where we need to get some of these guys started again who haven't played a lot, it's important for us that they are there and get some minutes but put on a good performance. I think they did that so I've praised them after the game."
With some additional faces expected back in the coming days, Hoff Thorup is increasingly confident that the Canaries can get back on the right track and end the run of seven games without a win.
Ashley Barnes is expected to be available against Plymouth Argyle, as too is Kenny McLean.
"It is but he's finally getting closer. I think, without being too optimistic because I know we have to be careful here, but it could be Tuesday night. If not Tuesday night, then Saturday," he explained about Barnes.
"We get Kenny back on Tuesday which is good for the group, good for everyone because we can see we need him in there to dictate the game, dominate the game. That will be very important for us.
"What to expect with Marcelino (Núñez) is that he will be a part of training next week. I've said it before, sometimes we can be so focused with the results here and now but it's important we take the right decisions so that he's ready for the rest of the season and especially the Christmas period."
