Head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup feels his side deserved the three points during the 1-1 draw against Hull City.
Norwich were the dominant side throughout the second half after equalising in the 47th minute but failed to find a winner.
"We are off it the first 15 minutes. It was a really, really bad start in many ways, not only the goal we concede but in general," the Dane said afterwards.
"Our press is not intense enough and we're just off. After the goal, we changed the structure a little bit and the formation up front. I think after that it became better and better. We found a rhythm and a flow in the game, and we started to control it.
"Just before half-time, we have some good situations and then a good start to the second half. From minute 15 in the game, it's us who are on top and pushing for that winning goal."
After Josh Sargent levelled matters, Norwich pressed on in hope of a second but fell short.
Borja Sainz hit the post while another chance immediately after was deflected wide. A number of crosses also went narrowly out of reach of Norwich attackers as the clocked ticked towards 90.
"It would have been a well-deserved win based on the second half. They're disappointed but, compared to a little bit of Derby and more of the Preston game, this is a step in the right direction," Hoff Thorup outlined.
"We looked like the football team that we want to be in big parts of the second half. Creativity up front, calmness in our build-up and the amount of good situations we get ourselves into. We have a lot of low crosses where we just need that final aggressiveness, anticipation to get onto it first.
"The goal we scored was beautiful and we had the chances throughout the second half, so I think we've dropped two points here but I'm pleased with the performance."
