City Women's Holly Kennard made a big impact in Sunday afternoon's preliminary round draw of the FAWNL Plater, as the Canaries ran out 1-0 winners over Brighton and Hove Albion Women Academy.
The lively attacker posed problems for the Brighton defence, acting as a constant thorn in their side for the afternoon.
"I think we had a really good performance, a strong start with the starting 11 we had," she said.
"We worked together really well and sometimes we didn't even have to communicate, we just knew what we were all doing together; with the press, we knew to sit off them, we cottoned on to that pretty quickly.
"Everyone made a big impact, including the subs."
Despite the young Brighton side coming out rejuvenated for the second half, Kennard was pleased with how Norwich responded and held their nerve.
"When we went in in at half-time they obviously worked out our game plan, knew where our strong points were and that's why they came out stronger in the second half," she added.
"As the game went on, that's when they started to pick up their intensity and that's where we dropped a little bit but I think we dealt with the game very well.
"I'm lost for words with our performance, not playing very many minutes in pre-season I was a bit nervous about how much game time I would get, but I enjoyed every minute of it."
