Norwich City defender Ruairi McConville played a key role in the Canaries keeping a clean sheet at the Riverside Stadium on Saturday.
The goalless draw upset Middlesbrough's promotion hopes as it is now out of their hands.
"It was a tough battle, we knew what we were coming into. They're fighting to get promoted, they've so much to play for," McConville said.
"We knew it was going to be a tough test but we had a gameplan and we set it out well. I thought we had a good enough start but continued to build on it. We had our chances to win the game but we're happy with the point."
McConville played on the right-hand side of City's back four, stifling the attack on Boro's left alongside Jack Stacey.
"It's what we needed, we haven't had as many as we would have wanted this year. Every one is vital for us and we'll try and build on it again. Every single one of them did their part today," he explained.
"We had our chances. There were a few I was already celebrating thinking they were in. On another day, we might get the win but there's still so many positives to take away from today. That's what we'll do.
"I'm happy to play anywhere, any chance I get, I'll try and take it. I've had a bit of experience playing right-back before so I knew what I was getting myself into. I had so many people around me to help me, Duff (Shane Duffy) didn't stop talking to me the whole game, and me and Stace (Jack Stacey) were trying to develop a partnership."
