Kenny McLean described Norwich City's 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town in the Sky Bet Championship as a deserved three points.
Sam McCallum and Borja Sainz scored as the Canaries claimed the win in their final home game of 2023.
"It's a good run we've been on," McLean said. "We can still be better. I think we're controlling games better. I think they had five minutes in the first half where they had the ball, but we were so comfortable.
"We work on that a lot, so we don't mind when teams have got the ball. We didn't create too much in the first half, and we addressed a few things at half-time that could help us and got our attacking players into better positions.
"We scored two very good goals, and Sam was outstanding when he came on. I thought he was unfortunate not to start after his Ipswich performance, and he had to go and give us that little bit extra.
"I think we were comfortable, and it was a deserved three points."
After a goalless first half, McCallum's headed opener two minutes after the restart helped Norwich on their way, and McLean highlighted the increased intensity as a key factor of the win.
"We were around them and they were probably happy with us doing that, even though we were controlling the game. We didn't open them up too much, and then we started getting attacking players in better positions.
"That's what we want, and that's what we always want. When you've got Borja and Jonny (Rowe) getting in dangerous areas, we can really hurt teams."
In recent weeks, the Scotsman has been deployed at centre-back and he says he has adapted well to a new position.
"I think it's went okay, it's obviously something I've not done too much throughout my career. But the manager trusts me to do it, and I'm going to give everything.
"Whenever I play, I'll try and adjust my game to that and that's what I've done in the last few weeks. If I'm asked to play there or in midfield, it doesn't make too much difference to the way I approach games.
"I'll always try and do the best of my ability, and adapt to that position."
