Midfielder Kenny McLean says that the belief and confidence is still in the Norwich City squad to have a good run-in to the end of the season.
Speaking after the 1-0 defeat to Leeds United that leaves Norwich in eighth, two points outside of the play-off spots with an extra game played, McLean outlined that the positives of the performance are a better indicator of where the team are at.
"We did have the chances to get something, I had a big chance in the first half that was a terrible effort to be honest," he explained.
"Gabby (Sara) had an effort at the end of the first half. We did have chances, we had a lot of control over the game, especially in the second half. But, ultimately, we've come away with nothing which is disappointing when you come here and do control large parts of the game against a very good team. Small moments have defined the game, we concede a sloppy goal from our point of view.
"There was a catalogue of errors in there, small things we need to touch up on, missing out on second balls in the middle of the park, couple of chances to clear it, 50-50s we could have won, don't stop the cross. There's things there we need to be better at because that's what's cost the game, we should have taken more."
Patrick Bamford's 16th-minute header was the difference but a controlled performance from Norwich in the second half saw the hosts on the back foot.
However, the goal escaped Norwich and they will now wait over a week for their next league outing when Coventry City come to Carrow Road.
"We came here with the confidence that we could take something from the game, and I think we played with that confidence for a lot of it. Going forward if we continue to do that, take the game to other teams and show our quality, we'll do alright.
"Ok, we came out the other side but you can see the belief is in the squad that we can have a good run-in to the end of the season. There's still a lot of games to be played and points to be won."
