Norwich City Player of the Season, Kenny McLean, was disappointed not to get more from Saturday's match with Swansea City, but the side can go into next season having learnt a lot.
“I think we were good for large spells.
“We came out in the second-half and started slowly, which was disappointing.
“We deservedly went down 1-0 and then we pushed, we gave everything.
“And I think you can see the fans' appreciation for what we've done at the back end of the season.
“We've worked so hard to give ourselves with a slim chance, but it just wasn't to be.”
Despite falling short of the play-offs, there’s a lot McLean and his side can take out of this season.
“The resilience that we've shown as a squad, the growth we've shown.
“When you've got the chance to represent this club and come out here in front of these fans, they must make the most of it.
“Unfortunately, we've got a few lads leaving, which is sad to see, but that's what happens, people move on.
“So while you're at the club, do everything you can, and that's what we've been doing recently.
“We've been working so hard behind the scenes and fans are seeing that and they're showing their appreciation for us.”
Ahead of kick-off, McLean was presented with the 2025/26 Player of the Season award, becoming only the ninth player to win it on multiple occasions.
“Getting voted from the fans, it's special.
“I wish I could have done more with the season, and I wish I could have took us a bit further, but just give ourselves a little bit too much to do.
“I appreciate all the support I've been getting all season.
“It's obviously a very prestigious award that's been won by some legends at the football club throughout the years.
“I'll continue to work as hard as I can and continue to improve.”
