Kenny McLean reflected on a battle against Preston North End, telling Canaries TV there is room for improvement in their game plan.
City were 2-0 down after just 12 minutes but Shane Duffy's equaliser just after the hour mark completed the comeback.
"We're disappointed to be honest, when you start like that you get punished and we gave ourselves a mountain to climb," McLean said.
"We got the goal at a good time, we had a lot of control towards the end of the first half, but it was our own downfall today.
"Even the second half, we gave a couple of chances away and that was done to us.
"That's what is frustrating for us, the chances that teams are getting against us. I guess to get a point after being 2-0 down and away from home, we can be satisfied to an extent.
"Second half, we got the goal and then it looked a bit desperate at times, we didn't control it as much as we should have, I think we were just desperate to score and we forced it a bit much.
"We did show plenty of character and you can see the appreciation for the fans at the end there, they were still chanting away. It was a long trip for them and we appreciate it.
"Johannes was very calm at half-time, he came in with loads of frustrations because of what went on but he's one that takes a step back and tries to see how he can help us. His look on things is '45 minutes to go', not looking at what has just immediately happened because we can look at that through the week.
"His message was that he knew there were points for us in that second half."
Duffy's goal came in the 61st minute, in a well-worked move with Josh Sargent.
"Duffy has stepped in the way that we know that he is capable of doing and he's committed to players and it's always a bit dangerous when he follows his pass and continues into the box.
"It was an opening that we needed and he's the one that stood up and took responsibility at the time."
The Canaries are back in league action on Sunday, October 27 at home to Middlesbrough.
"Giving the fans the three points on Sunday would be what we want but we're going to keep trying to do what we're doing.
"Their support does not go unnoticed, it's incredible, so we need to keep repaying them with performances.
"Although we didn't win the game they can see the commitment, they can see what we're trying to do, they can see that everything is there, it's just the mistakes we need to cut out, then we'll punish teams more and we'll be on the right side of results more than not.
"They can see that and I think that's why they stick with us and they've given us so much back so Sunday at home is going to be no different, we know how big they can be for us there and it's one we look forward to.
"It's going to be a tough game, the third game in a week so we will rest, recover and we'll be ready to go."
