Kenny McLean believes that Norwich City should have claimed all three points in their 1-1 draw against Sheffield United.
Josh Sargent put the Canaries ahead midway through the first half but the Blades' captain Oliver Arblaster equalised on the half-hour mark.
McLean played in the City midfield alongside Marcelino Núñez and Amankwah Forson, and says that the right steps are being made.
"It was good, really good at times. That point felt better than last week's point. I know we did concede late last week, but you could see we were the team in the ascendancy, we were the team that were pretty dominant in the second half I think," he told Canaries TV.
"We spoke about that at half-time, when to keep hold of the ball and when to use the transitions better. That's the disappointing thing because we've spoken about it all week, that they use transitions really well and we lost the ball cheap. Overall, our play was pretty good at times, maybe that final pass could have been better to make more chances."
While Norwich continue to wait for their first league win of the season after three attempts, the Scotland international also highlighted how the Carrow Road faithful can see the steps being made.
And the continuous work going in on the training ground will reap rewards in days to come.
"I think because we were the team in the ascendancy so much, coming off the pitch there. When you see the response from the fans, they can see that we're going in the right direction so it makes you feel better than what it normally would be with a point," he added.
"Of course, we want to win every game here and we want to make this place hard for teams to come. That's improving, we've got better game by game and we'll keep working."
