Jack Stacey maintains that Norwich City's point away to West Brom was a positive result after what he deemed to be a strong performance from the team.
The right-back was back in the starting 11 and marked it with an assist for his former Bournemouth team-mate Emiliano Marcondes' first Norwich City goal.
It was a good game for the neutral, lots of quality going forward from both teams," Stacey said.
"It was a very open game and we created a lot of chances which is what we want to do. I think in the second half, we had to show a different side to us in terms of battling, settling in and seeing the game out for a point. Overall, it was positive."
Despite playing in almost every league fixture this season, Stacey has done it mostly from the bench over the past couple of months.
However, his performances on the training pitch saw him rewarded with a return to the starting lineup at The Hawthorns.
"When you're a professional footballer, you just want to play football. It's been frustrating for me not to play but you can only control looking after yourself and training to your full ability. For me, it was nice to be back on the pitch and to get an assist.
"All I can do is give my best when I'm on the pitch, the manager then makes the decision which I'll always fully respect. Like I said, every footballer wants to be playing."
After a difficult spell running from October into November, Stacey now sees this as an opportunity for the Canaries to build another positive run of form.
He also believes that the attitude and atmosphere in the dressing room remains a confident one.
"We spoke about wanting to go into this period on a positive. In terms of result and performance, we've done that today. We have some good games coming up, we want to continue this momentum, get some more players back, the healthier the squad is, the better it is for everybody.
"Still frustrations in terms of we know where we can improve. We showed two separate sides of us today. First half, it was expansive football coming away to a good team, creating a lot of chances and in the second, we were under pressure from very early on.
"We sat in and we battled, showed that we can do both sides. For me, it is positive going into the run of games coming up."
