Norwich City defender Jack Stacey says the team had to show two different sides of themselves in their 1-0 win over Stoke City.
The right-back scored the only goal of the game, and his first as a Norwich player, as the Canaries claimed a win against Stoke.
"We wanted to start the game really brightly," Stacey said. "We wanted to get Rotherham out of our minds, out of our legs, and I think we did that.
"The intensity in the first half was really good, and I think we would've been disappointed if we went into half-time not being ahead.
"Second half, I think we had to show a different side of ourselves. We had to protect the lead, and make sure we kept a clean sheet. That shows the array of things we'll have to do throughout the season.
"I think in the first half, we were on top. They were dangerous on the counter attack because we were committing so many men forward. Second half, we had to weather the storm a little bit. But to see the game out and get the clean sheet, we're delighted."
Stacey opened his account as a Norwich player, and immediately outlined how important it is for the wide players to chip in with goals and assists.
"I'd like a few more goals, to be honest! I've not had too many throughout my career. It's something we've been working on with the coaching staff, and they think I can get more. Hopefully it's the first of many.
"It's a product of how the team have started. It's a good team, a high pressing and high intensity team. That makes it easier for individuals to look good, and all the credit goes to the manager and his coaching team. It's something we can all build upon."
