Jack Stacey said things were starting to click with this Norwich City side after Saturday afternoon's 2-0 win against West Brom.
"So much of this league is about gaining momentum and I feel like we've got a little bit of that now. To go toe-to-toe with a good team in the play-offs, we're very happy," he said.
"When things click on the pitch and players come back in, we've got a really good starting lineup, a really strong squad and it's showing that on the pitch."
The Canaries faced West Brom in the reverse fixture only three weeks ago, where the Baggies claimed all three points in a 1-0 win on Boxing Day.
"The plan was to play out from the back, get forward as much as possible and try and get in behind them, try to beat them out wide. We managed to deliver that, especially in the first half, we played really good football.
"In the second half, we had to hang on for a little bit and we caught them on the counter. We dealt with their threats and we managed to compose ourselves."
With seven games in January for David Wagner's side, the Canaries remain unbeaten in the five played so far.
"When you train all week and you do all the preparation for a game, the moments with the crowd afterwards are why you do it.
"After a win you just have to enjoy it, not get too carried away because we have a long way to go, but we definitely have to enjoy it because there hasn't been as many as we like this season."
Next week sees a league trip to Leeds and the fourth round of the FA Cup against Liverpool.
"We've got a really good run of games with the form we've picked up; we'll go to Leeds, not be scared of them and try to do the same as what we did today and then the Liverpool trip will be great as well."
