Norwich City head coach David Wagner highlighted his side's belief and hunger to win games, as they beat QPR in the Carabao Cup.
The Canaries set up a visit to Ashton Gate to play Bristol City in the second round of the competition, courtesy of Jonathan Rowe's late winner.
"What counts for me as a manager is the performance," Wagner said. "I thought the performance was not top, but good. I think it was a deserved win, especially in the second half where we were the ones who created.
"I thought we were sloppy in the final third with the last pass. It was very exciting, very emotional to score in the last second. A great goal, a great cross from Kellen, and another great finish from Jonny.
"Good to come through, which is the most important thing. Great to have seen another great performance and to have our first clean sheet in a competitive performance as well."
Wagner made eight changes to the side that played against Southampton on Saturday, and spoke about the performances of players, also confirming injuries to Tony Springett and Onel Hernández.
"Good to see a lot of players who haven't started have good performances. Unfortunately, it looks like we have serious injuries to Onel and possibly Tony as well. This is what doesn't taste very good tonight.
"I'm happy that the players have confirmed what they showed in pre-season. We've had three competitive games now, and nearly everyone has had at least one start. The players have shown that we have a competitive squad.
"They've shown that we can rely on everyone, but we've still got work to do. It was anything but perfect tonight. The commitment that they've shown, this belief and this trust and the hunger to keep going until the final seconds.
"We've got a super fit squad, we were able to chase the game until the final second and we deserved the win."
