Harry Darling spoke to CanariesTV following his move to Norwich City.
Harry, first of all, how excited are you to join Norwich City?
"I'm delighted, it's been a long time coming after a lot of conversations. I'm happy to finally get it sorted and I'm looking forward to getting started."
Can you give us an insight into what those conversations were like, especially with the style of play and how you'll fit in?
"I think I knew a lot anyway, Liam (Manning) being in charge, I worked with him before at MK Dons so I didn't need convincing too much about the style of play. I really enjoyed it last time working with him. Just real positive conversations."
How was that working relationship with Liam that you had in the past?
"Yeah, really good. I like to think that he likes me as a player and I really like the way he works and his staff. There's been real positive conversations and just looking forward to getting going."
There was a lot of interest in you this summer, was being close to home a factor in your decision?
"I think it always plays a part, but for me it's a big step in my career, this next move. It wasn't about location, it was about the club and the ambitions going forward. I spoke to Ben (Knapper) and the ambition is obviously to get back to the Premier League, that aligns with myself and my ambitions. It wasn't a big part, the location, but it obviously does help."
Is there anyone in the squad that you know already who you were able to chat with?
"No, no, I don't know any of the boys. It'll be like going back to school, first day vibes!"
How has the summer been going so far for you? Have you been staying fit and healthy, and were you able to get some time off?
"I got away at the start of the off-season, went away with my family so that was nice to get away. But like I said, I'm ready to get back to work and meet all the boys, and go from there."
As a player and a personality, what do you bring to the dressing room?
"I like to bring a lot of leadership qualities. I've got a lot of experience at the level now, so if I can help the boys in anyway I can, then I want to try and do that. Experience, leadership, things like that."
You've played at Carrow Road in the past, what are your experiences of that?
"Always loved playing here, it's obviously very easy for my family to come and see so there's always a lot of family here. The ground is brilliant, the support is always brilliant as well. Looking forward to being a home player here, rather than an away player."
Whats the message you have to Norwich City supporters?
"Support us as a group, I think it's going to be a really exciting season and hopefully we can do something special this year."
