Upon signing for Norwich City, Harry Amass sat down with Canaries TV to chat about his move to the club.
Harry, welcome to Norwich City. Can you sum up your feelings of joining the club?
I'm buzzing to join, buzzing to be here, I can't wait to get started, looking forward to it.
You're still only 18. Can you give Norwich fans a little bit of background on your playing career so far?
I started at United, I made my debut on my 18th birthday actually. I played a few games for them at the end of last season, played in the Europa League and then went to Sheffield Wednesday on loan at the start of this season. I played a lot of games there and now I'm here.
It must be quite different experiences playing in the Premier League, Europa League and then in the Championship as well. How do you think those experiences have served your development?
Each of the experiences has given me different things. The Premier League is the best league in the world, you learn a lot of things there, playing with those players every day and training with them. The Championship is different but it's at a very high level as well. You learn a lot of things.
How have you managed to implement them into your game? And what is your style of play?
I would say I'm someone that's good on the ball, I like the ball, I want the ball. I try to be exciting for the fans, for anyone watching at home or in the stadium. I love getting on the ball and trying to make things happen. I give a lot for the team, I'm hardworking.
Do you think that's why the club has come in for you and brought you to Norwich City? Is that something that they've talked to you about?
They showed me a few areas, why they brought me here and think that I'm good at. Also areas they think I can improve on.
It's always interesting for us to get an insight into those conversations. Who have you spoken to at the club? And what have they told you about yourself and the plans for the club?
I've spoken with Ben and the gaffer. They've both told me that they've been watching me since Sheffield Wednesday and a bit before that, and they've liked what they've seen. They like the way that I carry the ball, the way that I am on the ball, the hard work that I show. They spoke to me and said they see that I can do good things here, they believe that it'll be a benefit for the club and for me, so it should be good both ways.
Why do you feel that now is the right time to make the switch to Norwich City on loan?
Norwich are in a good position, making a step up at the moment and going forward. I wanted to be a part of it and I'm looking forward to it.
What hopes have your parent club Manchester United got for your development while you're out on loan?
They want me to get more experience, get better at a few things, maybe off the ball. I think you can always get better everywhere, more games, different coaching, facilities, it can all make my game even better.
Have they indicated to you what sort of future you might have there?
They want me around at the end of this season, we'll see what happens when I go back. They're excited for me to go out now and show what I can do, and keep getting better.
Of course, when you go out on loan at a very young age, a young lad living away from home, how do find that? Have you thrived in that situation?
I moved when I was quite young to Manchester from London. I moved away from my family at a young age so it's not really bothered me, started living on my own then last year. I actually enjoy it, my own space.
What about dealing with those big stadium moments? How have you coped with that at such a young age?
I don't really get too nervous, I'm confident in what I can do. I'm in the position that I am for a reason. I enjoy the pressure and big game moments, that's when I do better.
How much of a look around have you had a chance to do?
I've been at the training ground, it's very nice. I've just come here (Carrow Road), everything is lovely, the facilities are brilliant.
You've been experiencing a similar end of the table to us at the moment, do you feel ready to go straight into action?
I've only had maybe a week and a bit off, I've been training back at United and playing games regularly. I'm ready to go.
