Mathias Kvistgaarden spoke to Canaries TV after making the move to Norwich City from Brøndby IF.
Mathias, welcome to Norwich City. How does it feel to be here?
"I'm very happy. I'm very excited to get going, it's been a crazy day today and I've met all the guys and the staff. They're all wonderful people around this club, I'm very excited."
There's been a lot of interest in you as a player, what led you to join Norwich?
"There's been a couple of things, like the club. I've heard so much about the club, I've talked with (Oscar) Schwartau and Anis (Slimane) and they've only talked positive things about the club. When I had the interest from Norwich, I wasn't thinking that much, I was just thinking that it could be a good match for me."
The staff, Ben Knapper, Liam Manning, what have they told you about what we're trying to achieve here this season?
"I don't think that it's a secret that, it's also my goal here, we have to go up to the Premier League. That's the club's goal and also my goal."
What can you do to play your part in helping us achieve that goal?
"Hopefully, I can come with a lot of energy as I did in my former clubs. Energy and positiveness, a big smile on my face every day. Of course, as a striker, I can score a lot of goals."
There's a lot of talk about your favourite position. Is it striker that you like to play?
"Normally, I like to say that I just prefer to play and then the coach can put me wherever he wants. If I have to choose one of them, then I would take the striker."
What's your relationship like with Oscar Schwartau?
"We're like big brother and little brother. He came up in Brøndby as a young guy and I took him under my wing, helped him and even drove him home because he didn't have a driving license! For me, I feel like he's my little brother."
Does that help when you move to a different country for the first time?
"It's my first club (outside of Denmark) and of course, it helps. It helps to know that there are Danish people here, it makes it easier to get into the squad. But I've also talked to the guys who aren't from Denmark, from all different parts of the world, It seems like a fantastic group. I can't wait to meet them all and train with them."
Do you feel your personality will help to influence the dressing room off the pitch, as well as on it?
"Hopefully! I'm a guy with a lot of energy, hopefully a lot of bad jokes too. If I can make the other guys laugh and have a nice day, then that would be perfect."
You've had a whirlwind day, just talk us through it?
"A lot of checks and physical stuff to see how the body feels. I feel my body is doing good right now, so I'm just looking forward to starting. It has been nice to meet everyone and see how welcoming everybody is."
What did you think of the environment up at the Avant Training Centre?
"It was great, great facilities and a great place. As I said before, lots of nice staff and there's not much to complain about."
What are your aspirations, personally, for the season ahead?
"As I said before, hopefully I can come with a lot of energy. As a striker, you always want to score goals and make assists. Of course, that. I want to help the team in a positive direction. For me, it's just to get a good start and be part of the group."
Assuming this is your first time visiting the city of Norwich. What are your impressions of the place?
"Right here where I'm sitting, I'm very impressed. I don't think I've ever seen anything like this before in Denmark. It's still wow, just trying to take everything in and enjoy the moment."
Are you the sort of character that will get out and explore Norwich and Norfolk?
"Yeah, 100 per cent. I'll start by asking Oscar if he can show me around but I'm pretty sure that he can't. When I get here and I arrive finally, I'm going to take some walks into the city and see where everything is and see where the good places in the city are."
What relationship did you have with the supporters and the people of Brøndby? And what do you hope to achieve with the fans here?
"I had a very close relationship with fans in Brøndby. A lot of them sing for the club and I went to school with them, so it was like we went down two different paths. I hope to have a good relationship with the fans here, I love to walk into the stadium and look around and see fans. I've only heard positive and good things about the fans here. I'm expecting a full stadium, as I've heard we can do that every week."
