Norwich City came away with a point at Portman Road thanks to a Jonathan Rowe brace in Saturday's Sky Bet Championship lunch time fixture.
Although both sides took the lead at one point throughout the game, the draw means Norwich remain unbeaten in 14 years of the East Anglian derby's history, with Ipswich's last win in 2009.
The Canaries had made two changes to the starting 11 after the midweek win over Sheffield Wednesday, which saw Sam McCallum in for Dimitris Giannoulis and Jack Stacey starting over Kellen Fisher.
It took seven minutes to see an opening shot but Ipswich's George Hirst couldn't get his header from a free-kick on target.
The first corner went to the Canaries, which Gabriel Sara delivered into the box, but the Brazilian was unable to find a yellow shirt and the set-piece was cleared from danger for Town.
Shane Duffy made an important clearance in the box before Nathan Broadhead had the hosts' best early chance with a one-on-one, his shot rolling inches wide of the goal inside 20 minutes.
Town's Leif Davis was next to have a go from the same side, but Gunn was there to collect the effort.
The attacking push from Ipswich continued after City lost possession in a dangerous area and Wes Burns was able to shoot inside the box, striking just over the bar 30 minutes into the game.
A half-volley from Borja Sainz was the most threatening looking chance for the Canaries shortly after, but his attempt was unable to trouble Vaclav Hladky in goal.
After a largely controlled display from Ipswich in the first half, it was Broadhead who would come knocking again and this time find the back of the net for Town to put them ahead with 34 minutes on the clock.
It didn't take long to stop the one-way traffic, as Norwich reacted quickly through Jonathan Rowe, who was able to capitalise on the rebound of his initial shot in the box and loop over the head of Hladky, making it 1-1 after 40 minutes.
The second half opened with much more fluidity from City, and it took just four minutes for Norwich to turn the game on its head.
A long throw from Marcelino Núñez found the feet of Rowe who once again found the back of the net to put Norwich in front for the first time.
The hosts were beginning to find difficulty going forward, with their most promising chance in the opening stages of the second half from a Cameron Burgess header wide of the target.
The game was level once again after 60 minutes through Wes Burns, who found his equaliser with a low shot on the edge of the box, beating Gunn in goal.
The City stopper was called into action with 10 minutes of normal time on the clock, where he tipped away an Ipswich effort from close-range.
With six minutes of injury time added on, it was a nervy finish for David Wagner's side, but the Canaries held on to a deserved point at Portman Road in the East Anglian derby.
